Flamboro Downs was established in 1975 when Ontario horse racing was in its infancy. Dundas, at the time, was a small rural community but the "Track of the Future” proved to be popular and the site expanded several times, with a slots room added in 2000. Today the Flamboro Downs is operated by the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation which is one of the leading gaming and entertainment providers in Canada.
